Toastcat
Made of: A golden slice of toast. The second cat ever made, and the warmest welcome in the bakery.
Toastcat is a cartoon cat made out of a golden slice of toast: a square of soft bread with a crisp, crusty edge, a few orange tabby stripes across the top, a happy open smile and ginger paws tucked neatly underneath, with a stripy tail curled round the side.
Toastcat was the second Bakery Cat ever made, straight after Croissantcat, and has been part of the bakery from the very first morning. Every day starts the same way: the first warm spot by the oven, a slow stretch, and a cheerful hello for everyone who comes through the door.
Favourite spot: right next to the toaster, ready to pop up the moment anyone says breakfast.
Quirks: always warm, never in a hurry, and a little bit crunchy round the edges first thing in the morning (soft in the middle, always).
